Hey there,

I am trying to find an e-commerce application to set up a site under a tight deadline. My client has the following requirements:

-> Ability to switch site between consumer and wholesale pricing. When wholesale pricing is active, the cart needs to be deactivated.

-> Intergration into Sage Line 50.

-> Preferably a back-office admin instead of a browser-based admin.

-> Templating front-end (so i can get the structure pumped out relatively quickly).

I have looked at a few options such as Actinic and Erol. The only problem is the ability to switch the pricing. I have spoken to Erol and there (kind of) solution seems like a bit a botch :( . I need to speak to Actinic on Monday. There is something about the Erol and Actinic systems that i am getting a bad vibe about on forums i have been passing through.

Aspdotnetstorefront's "IS" solution seems very good, i am waiting to hear back from them about Sage Intergration. The only downfall would be the extra hosting charges involved with .net, but hey, nothings perfect.

Does anyone know of any applications out there that would fulfill these requirements? I'd really appreciate any suggestions.

cheers

Ed

Erol I wouldnt even consider - I have known a few of their sites in the past cant wait to get away from them, their sites seem very heavily reliant on javascript, pages seem to seems to refresh about 5 times for every link clicked, and forget any SEO opportunities!

Actinic I've never been a fan of, but I know of a few sites that started off with Actinic and it did a wonderful job for them until they grew out of what Actinic could offer at the time.

I'm guessing you are in the UK. You may want to look at Evolve from Lynx Internet. It is browser based admin, but they do have sage integration app available (at a cost, I expect), and is very template oriented.

Why does the cart need to be deactivated for wholesale pricing, what do you want to offer that couldnt be covered by a seperate wholesale pricelist if you dont want wholesale orders placed online?
