Holiday Cards to past customers.

Good idea? Give thanks, or include marketing text?

Any opinions on sending out holiday cards to past customers? Is it a good idea? How personalized do you make it? Do you include coupons or other marketing material with your card?

We just give them a nice flash card with a thanks. They love it.

If you are going to give a coupon, give it freely, no strings attached (strings like spend $25 to get $5 off)

You may want to make sure the individual honours that holiday, or else they may find it insulting.

Yes, it would be neutral and say "happy holidays" rather than something specific like Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, etc. Christmas would probably be okay in counties within states that voted for George Bush.

Id do the opposite and say Merry/Happy christmas.

When I receive happy Dwali cards at no point do I feel put out. Im pleased that they are celebrating their own religon and want to include me in those celebrations.
