Shopping Mall Software

any recommendations?

I'm looking for Shopping Mall software that has the functionality of a most modern shopping carts but also has the ability to work with multiple stores or vendors.

so I guess this type of software is rare.
even this post is 11th in google now.
should be in the top 10 by next month, keeping my fingers crossed :)

osCommerce can do what you're looking for with a contribution added but the current version is a bit cumbersome to wrap your head around and work with. If you can then you'll have a good cart to work with and can customize it to suit your needs.

I was not sure OS did this. My cart will
needs to be highly costomizable so I think I will go with it.

There is a version of X-Cart that will allow multiple vendors. I haven't used it though - IMHO, easier to install & configure than osCommerce. :)

Miva Merchant has the ability to install multiple stores, miva.com.

Miva Merchant can get a bit pricey, though. They have a mall license...then any stores you set up need to have licenses.

I abandoned Miva in favor of OScommerce about 3 years ago (took all my clients with me) and have never regretted it.

Now I giggle when I get an offer to upgrade my Miva mall for only $499 (that's half off!)

If OScommerce did not have a module to do exactly what I wanted (rare), I could hack one or pay someone to do it for me.

Great community, great software and all at a price that cannot be beat!
