We were just called by them, they want to sell us fist place position for some of our keywords. Apparently they have some kind of add-on to the IE browser. They calim that the add-on cannot be detected by any spyware/adddware removal programs.

Something "smells fishy" with them, and I wanted to hear if anyone here had any experience with them.

thanks

No matter who they are, their "userbase" is not going to give you ROI.

Do you really want your site associated with "uninstallable" adware?

>>>some kind of add-on

I get calls from scumware salespeople all the time. I usually tell them how much time I have spent removing their kind of crap from the computers of friends and family.
Do you really want your business associated with that kind of underhanded operation?
Hang up and ask them never to call again.

sorry for the echo!

Furthermore it is not effective. These companies go by many names. The big one was Rocket Positions which actually occupied half of page of your IE browser when searching on Google or Yahoo. Most people end up just launching FireFox when something like this happens.

I've never done such a thing myself because I think it's computer ethicly wrong as the previous people have stated, but from what I've heard it is not effective at all!
