what do you like doing? Fishing? Football? Antiques?
find a subject you can work with and look up the search terms on #*$!.com, your looking for a term that has tons of searches each day but only has around or no more that half Million sites on Yahoo. This makes it easy to seo for.
Once you find that find a supplier of the goods you wish to sell. Your in business.
I don't understand exactly what you suggest. Give me an example. Say I like chocolate. What do I do next?
Ideally, this should be easy AND cheap. I don't want to spend too much money on this. Joining some affiliate program seems perfect, but which affiliate program?
Ok so you like Chocs assuming that there are less than half mill sites, goto to #*$! and look up chocolates, they will give you a list of words that people use with the term chocs in thems.
choc presents, valentines chocs, xmas chocs gift chocs now search for these terms.
I often find words that have around 1000 searches a day and have less than 100 thousand sites, now target these terms.
you can build a site with a term of 30 a day, multiple this by 100 pages (all with diffrent 30 a day terms) and bingo youve a site with at least 500 unique visitors a day.
Ive built sites receiving 60 a day total and taken in around $500 per month, its much much easier than you think.
If your just reviewing and comparing Id sugget #*$! or adsense for your adverts.
i suspect that your pages will 'find' their own search terms and with a bit of tweaking youd do a lot better.
its alot of work but worth it in the end.
Frankly,I get fed up with posts that seriously expect life handed to them on a plate(with or without a subscription to WW)

1. Requires little or no maintenance e.g. content sites that makes money from Adsense
2. Requires little or no advertising to pull in customers e.g. high PR in Google (5 or more) with hundreads or thousands of optimized pages already indexed.
3. Have means of generating recurrent traffic or adding new content by third parties e.g. forums or blog sites.
4. Chance for you to improve the site and thus possibly to resell at a much higher price.
For example, I bought a content site recently for around $6,000. It vitually requires no maintenance and adsense pulls in around $12 a day through Adsense. Morover, there is a very good chance that I can increase the no. of visitors by raising its PR, improving its appearance, or adding a forum.
Although the initial capital outlay may seem large. Barring unforseen circumstances, you will recoup the cost within 1-2 years. Morover, you can always resell the web site later on. In terms of P/E, this would beat any investments in stocks, bonds, and properties.
The downside would be if Google suddenly changes its algorithm for SERPS and Adsense. But almost all Intenet businesses nowadays are hostage to Google's whims.
