hey guys, not sure if this is the exact proper thread, if not, someone will move it, but i have a client that wants to sell her book online, in the form of an e-book. will this be a #*$! to set up. i mean, if its a 300 page book. how do i convert all that to sections online to sell. im assuming pdf format. would it be worth it to set up 300 pages in pdf, or just sell the book as a whole instead. she wants to sell in sections, so much per section, or the whole package for a certian price. there will also be a login once they pay for it. they login, and dl the sections. One other question, as i have never delt with e-books, do e-books sell better online then a regular book, i dont have many stats on that info. thx.

Conversion is easy.

Got a scanner? Scan it in making sure yourscanner can understand text. Save it as a word processor/split file, go find a decent(there are free ones) wordprocessor that lets you save the file as a PDF.

easy done.

I downloaded my first ebook a couple of days ago and was really impressed with it, however up until that point I considered them to be a touch cheesy.

I guess its all those ebay auction with reseller rights.

Selling it on line would be far less risk than having print it on paper.

I would say that a regular book would sell better than an e-Book, but there are many advantages to selling an e-Book. i.e. Less cost, easy and instant download. PDF is probably the best format as 99% of people have Adobe acrobat on their PC's.

The only problem with e-Books is that people automatically assume that they are not as good as 'real' books. Maybe you want to ask you client what sort of market he/she is looking for.
