The first time I called, I got the credit department. They told me that all calls were accidentally routed to them. Did some hacker really get to them in two ways?
We've been out of commission for going on 2 hours now. I'm sitting here watching all the incomplete orders being created, seeing all the money we're not getting because of A.Net....
I'm now thinking we may need a secondary backup merchant for just these types of situations....
I'm able to access the site now manually, so if we see orders that are problematic (some go through) then we call the customer, verify the order, and upload the data manually. It's a pain, but it's working.
A backup would be a good idea - what company is the most rock-solid? Verisign?
Yep, down again, and as with the last occurrence the phone number was rerouted: a double whammy. (I got a porno phone line last DDOS).
At least with my site I am able to post process (reauthorize) order transactions on my site.

Is there any reason not to have two payment processors always, and just switch from one to another when this nonsense happens?
With Auth.net we set all of our live charges to "AUTH_ONLY" during the day. Then, after we ship whatever is in stock and ready to go, we upload to Authorize.net a flat file telling Auth.net to "CAPTURE" that amount of each charge that is applicable.
But VeriSign can't do this. I get two options: integrate a special API (at my cost) or click off items one by one (prone to human error, and time consuming).
Does anyone know of a good SOLID gateway that would allow me to upload a simple file to capture charges at the end of each day?
We were using it, but since we didnt have anything to automatically generate a file for importing into the software, having to reenter customer data got to be a problem for us so that is why we switched to authorize.net

Maybe your IP is blocked by auth.net - that's frequently what they do when they have a DDoS. They block ranges of IPs where bots are most concentrated.
Also, has anyone found a status page anywhere?
errrr..... secure.authorizenet.com does not resolve to anything? are you sure this is the right host name you used?
Regarding the suggestion to use an alternative to authorize.net I agree, they do seem to have more downtime than is acceptable. I lost them during the christmas season a 2 years ago and they were pretty underwhelming.
I spoke with a "manager" at authorize.net last week when the ddos started, and he told me they'd just moved into a new physical location and that was why they were down. Pretty disapointing.
Anyone know where I can get a company that let's me "Auth Only" then capture later by uploading a flat file?
I'm sick of AuthorizeNet being down. This is ridiculous.
