I am thinking to setup a website for the japanese market. We are based in US and we already have a website for the US market. Does anyone have any experiences with the japanese e-market? We do sell downloable products (databses).
I was thinking about Japan for their financial strenght. Also I hope that chargebacks rate wont be there too high....as in the rest of the East Asia. Also I am looking for the CC merchant who will be able to procces transactions in JPY.

You can process credit cards from anybody in the world.
If you list your prices in YEN, just convert from YEN to Dollars when processing your credit card transaction with your American Bank. Unless you are looking for AVS, and im not sure if AVS is available outside the USA.
