I use paypal for most orders, but sometimes get requests from countries not covered by PayPal - most recently, Cyprus for example.

I have a UK business account - does anyone know what details I can/am safe to give out in such cases - can they do a transfer using just sort code and account number?

I wire money to China from my account with no trouble having only the sellers bank address and number etc.

Some times you need a 'swift' code Ihave been asked for this on occasion. If I were you id open an extra recieving account to hold foreign wire payments.

withdrawing them pretty dam quick once they are receieved. you never know.

I've had some buyers in Cyprus, I just got them to do a direct bank transfer using my account number and SWIFT code. I wouldn't use the local currency though - I just kept it in USD or GBP or Euro, the same as my website.

Giving out the wire information for your bank should be fine.

For international this is usually, Swift, routing and account #. bank name, state, country and address.

Shouldn't need much more than that.

Nowadays, it's becoming more standard to provide your IBAN number plus Swift/BIC code and routing number, especially if both countries are in the E.U.

We have to pay lots of E.U. merchants and our bank needs this information for all our merchants.
