Keyword research

Can I believe something like this?

Researching keywords via the Ov tool, I come across things like this :

52 company custom design design design site site site site web web web web

this tells me that the above keyphrase was searched 52 times last month, but surely that combo is unlikely to have been searched that much?
How reliable are these keyword search stats that we get from the various tool suppliers?

Overtures numbers are inflated. Usually by quite a bit.

OV does not list words in the actual way they are used. If you will nottice "company custom design design design site site site site web web web web" is in alphabetical order. If you ever see a term in alphabetical order then you know it is probably not the order people type it in. It may be "web site design web site company custom web site" or something like that. Most of the time it is easy to figure out but one like that is almost impossible to figure out the order they mean. Also they may be talking about several combinations in several different orders. OV stats are really bad. Even the other copany is way off sometimes. WT is a lot better as far as telling actualy what people type in. I never look at the numbers. Both tools are just good way of finding more kw's. WT being the better one.

Overture counts bot inquiries which is why the numbers are so off. For example, queries from WPG and other ranking programs are counted in the mix. This is very misleading, as you think there is all this traffic, when is mostly queries. Verify with WT and GAW.
