A new code of practice adopted by net firms lets them close e-commerce sites using junk mail marketing, even if the spam comes from elsewhere.

Would have been better if they just all agreed to deny high-speed access to customers that spew out lots of emails from their home connections - highjacking of PCs for this purpose appears to be pretty common.

As for this code of practice - I'd say it will fall apart as soon as first innocent firm which will have lost their hosting due to someone else's spamming (bad affiliate, competitors etc) wins damages araising from not being able to trade.
