We've been getting many transactions rejected due to AVS with UK customers lately. It turns out that banks in the UK are adding AVS, which is fairly new for them. We have the basic fields for address capture: name, address1, address2, city, state, zip, country. We have not been passing the country code on because it was unnecessary when AVS wasn't an issue for international transactions. Could that be the problem we're experiencing now or is there something else we should be looking at?

We've been having problems with AVS in the UK too. Most UK banks have had it for years.

We generally phone the bank with an AVS fail and check the address manually. About 50% (sometimes more) turn out to be perfectly OK, even though the details went through properly. This number has been been rising steadily too.

However the country code could be a problem. Our transaction handler handles UK and US addresses differently.
