Hi,

I just discovered this forum, it looks great to me. I use an Open Source software writen in PHP to manage some Internet boutiques. I'm good with the programming and business aspect. But I'm not an artist and I live in canada, so it's expensive to hire someone to make a good design job with my sites around here.

Fortunately, web design doesn't need any shipping. So I think it's a great idea to make business with a design company located in China, Hong-Kong, Mexico, maybe India, etc...

Does someone knows some tips about that issue?

Thanks.

There are plenty of web design freelance boards around so you could in theory start one up on a budget.

I have indeed thought about this, a mate in Australia has his own web design firm, he reckons things are going great so there may well be a chance for you.

If someone wants to get offers from Russian designers feel free to PM me short description what design you need for. I'll translate it in Russian and put it on their forum.

Then you can pick the good guys yourself.

:) :)

Also, it seems English may not be your "native language" which makes it more difficult for you. No need to apologize! :)

Hello

I've subcontracted out lots of work to Indian designers over the past 4-5 years. You might go through a few poor ones, but you may find (like we have) 2 fantastic designers who are a pleasure to work with.

Great work, great work ethic, easy to work with, competitive pricing, no hassle.

My only advice is to look smart - pay 50% upfront and 50% on coimpletion. Don't pay peanuts - pay a good amount and get delighted designers who love to work with you.

But it's finding the good ones that is the tricky bit.

Hope that helps.
