Crook re-directed his package with UPS

An order for $2K passed the AVS and CVV... when we shipped we told the customer the tracking number. The customer (AKA Theif) called UPS and simply had the package re-directed.

We are looking for away to give our customer the tracking info without giving them the tracking number.

Any suggestions?

Add the following line to your UPS shipping label or print out a separate label with this on it.

UPS, Do Not Re-Direct the Shipping Destination Of This Package Without the Approval of the Shipper.

That should end the re-directs, it has worked well for my clients.

This is something i've wondered about as well. In this instance, is the liability with the shipper, or UPS for re-directing the parcel without authorisation?

Surely liability would be with UPS? I had figured that they had done the figures and decided that taking the odd insurance hit was cheaper because of labour saved with missed and re-scheduld deliveries?
