I've started selling a few downloadable products and am using Payloadz to deliver the download. I had a customer purchase my product yesterday and between now and then I've had 18 different IP addresses try to download my product! For the most part the IP addresses are the same except for the last three digits. There is one instance where the IP address is completely different. They are not AOL IP addresses. Does this sound like the same person or can I be pretty certain that they are individual computers? My analyzer program show 2 different operating systems and 2 different browsers.
I renamed the files last night to prevent any further downloads and Payloadz actually denied downloads today due to the maximum limit being reached.
I emailed the customer to see if they needed assistance and to see if they were able to download the file okay but I've not heard back. Also, today Payloadz sent me a Accept/Reject notice from "my customer" for additional downloads. I'm thinking of rejecting with a note that says to contact me first.
Thanks for any advice.
I use DSL modem. Sometimes connection get broken, then DSL re-connects and I get an another IP.
My provider actually has 2 large blocks of IP address. Mostly I receive IP addresses from one block, but sometimes from another (complately different in all digits).
Could a broken DSL modem be a source of this funny behavior?
Thanks!
