How ultra is that?

A very full featured cart looks attractive. The lease setup gets expensive - but no SSL or certificate costs, and it apparently automates everthing right down to exporting data to third party fulfillment houses. UltraCart supports many gateways.

Amazingly, there's nothing on a WW search, so...is this heaven or sleepless nights?

Load this cart!

not sure if its the same thing, but there was an ultracart component that was an add-on to Macromedia Dreamweaver. ultracart was just a basic shopping cart and ultracart II was a custom component with a backend database.

A Web search will bring it up. Great to hear from someone who has / is using it!

the following applies to the dw component of that name ...

i used it once and while it was easy to implement, there were severe problems with it...

first the cart contents were held in a session variable and you were limited to about 20 items (in the cart)

second, if you made a change to the cart in the code you had to update every instance of the cart in the site manually, which is a real pain.

i'd recommend it as easy to use for a simple small site (i used ultracart ii) the support from the guy who wrote it joe was always very good and quick too, that was a couple of years back.

Hi topr8,

Thanks. No, I'm not referring to a Dreamweaver extension: It's UltraCart the (dot com) company in Georgia. "UltraCart is a highly functional, robust and customizable e-commerce service that powers businesses all across the web". I don't think they are related (good tradename issue...!)
