Ten days ago I applied for a merchant account with ez-charge.com and sent them the $2500 fee. Since then I have become increasingly worried as I didnt hear anything more from them. After repeatedly emailing them, I got a short letter saying that they had received my payment for the set up. After this, I havent heard any more. I was origionally told that the account would be set up and I would be processing credit cards after 2 to 5 days after receipt of set-up fee, it is now 12 days!
I think I have been ripped off, has anyone else had any dealings with ez-charge.com?

i would be worried also. $2500 is a hell of a setup fee to be paying.

I have never heard of ez-charge.com, so I can't comment on if they have really scammed you.

But, their so called "own payment processing data center" is actually located at HostDime.com, along with 168 other websites being hosted on the same server.

I would request a refund immediately and report to your local authority just in case.

well they have just sent me a merchant ID and password in an email telling me their technical dept will be in touch soon, 3 weeks after wiring the money! Im still not convinced that anything is going to happen. So much for the 3 to 5 days set up time. More like a month if it ever happens.

still no reply from f******* ez-charge. They just dont reply to emails so they got to be a fraudulant set up otherwise I would have had some action by now. Is there anything to do in these cases? I know I have lost the $2500 but I would like to have an address I could report them to at least :(

Found this on another board.......

http://www.ez-charge.com

They offer high risk Merchant Accounts. They are supposed to be based in Hong Kong.
Their offer looks reasonably good since the discount rates are low for adult. Their setup fees are quite high, though.

- Their site looks pretty professional, they even have a working demo of the payment gateway.
- Their domain was registered 2 years ago to the name of the company they say they are.
- They have a fax number in HK (that could be obtained for free at efax) and a phone number in HK, I called and there's an answering machine (in Mandarin, I suppose).
- Their business address exists, but who knows.
- First alert: Site down. It was down for 2 or 3 days. They moved to a new host. I contacted the previous one and they answered that the account was suspended for "possible fraud site". They did not provide more info than that.
- I asked a business reference and they did not provide any, but that's quite common, at least with billing companies.
- The IP address taken from their sales emails resolve to Ukraine.

This last should be quite definitive to be sure this is a scam but, if it is, it's by far the most developed I've ever seen. By the way they accept only wires for the setup fee (means they have to give you their Bank account info to steal the setup fee).
Just wanted to know what others around here think, or just share this that in my opinion is quite a curious thing.

Hi,
I posted the msg quoted previously in another board.
I'd be interested in your experience.
Did you wire them the initial setup fee?
Was their bank accout in a Hong Kong bank? If not where?
If their account information is available to you you may be able to track them, isn it?
Thanks,

Carlos

Gentlemen. I appreciate your frustration and I sympathize. But we simply cannot permit any additional specifics. The point has been clearly made that it may not be wise to deal with this company.

If you want to share specific information, take your discussion into stickymail or email. Please don't force me to remove this thread altogether.
