I need to set up a payment gateway for an existing merchant account. Authorize.net offers this directly. I also found that Gatewayonly.com offers the Authorize.net payment gateway at a substantially lower cost (both setup and monthly charges).

I'd like to hear about people's experiences with gatewayonly.com. Both good and bad please.

There are no monthly charges for Authorize.Net, access to Authorize.Net is a one-time flat fee. If you are paying monthly, you are paying a third party every month, plus interest. I forget how much it was when I signed up a few years ago, like $560 I think. I paid that and haven't paid anything since.

hmmm... I received a quote from Authorize.net with these amounts:

$299 onetime license and set up fee
$20 monthly gateway fee
$0.10 per transaction

This is directly from Authorize.net.

Hmm, they must offer their own leasing program now. Call (or write) them back and ask how much it is to own access to the Gateway.

All of the third party places out there that lease Authorize.Net access (such as Leasecomm) that I've heard of were on two or 3 year terms (depending on how much you wanted to pay per month). Then again, I've "owned" my Gateway access since like 1998 so they may not offer this option anymore who knows. At least let them know you know about it and see what they say.

Okay - thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check it out with them.
