While running a site I listed all of my prices in US$ didnt have one customer question this. However placing items on ebay I receive mail from about 10% of my final buyers asking why I do it and how to work out the sterling value.

Some are even confused as to where I am in the world despite stating clearly my location I often receive emails wanting confirmation - solely as I have priced my gear in US$.

Any one experienced this? Either on or off of Ebay.

On ebay it will list your auction in sterling (alongside the USD amount) if they log in vi co.uk .. so, I find that a bit odd.

But, I sell worldwide and get quite a few customers outside of north america. Never had one question in several thousand transactions.

Yes people definitely prefer their own currency. For some time I tried to give a constant price (usually USD) to all countries. But I found conversions increased markedly when I just did a country specific page in the local currency(directed by adwords mainly).

Perhaps there is a feed service that will load current exchange rates and currency conversions right onto your Web page. There should be. With some programming you could factor in the specific product price.

I'm not a coder, but could be a nice little project there to offer merchants...." display your prices in your most important local currencies ".

Let me know if you find/create one!
