I searched a lot, and found these agents:
Paypal
2checkout
Mypaysystems
ikobo
worldpay
and a couple of others.
first of all, i got to know Paypal. and i soon decide to give it up for:
i can't receive funds from China mainland;it has lots of limits for sending and withdrawing funds;i heard stories that its users receive suspicious emails etc.
I can't get any customer service very promptly.
then i found 2cheeckout.
2CO charges quite high service fee.
Andway, i contacted them, i got an email from them they say I'm selling travel, which is "restricted".
Mypaysystems seems to be managing by a samll company, i call them, the operator is quite helpful regarding answering my questions over the phone.
Unfortunately, they don't offer service for Chinese clients.
I dealt with ikobo.
I read the FAQs and chated with them.
(*the chat service is very good), they offer service for us.
They use i-card (a visa debit card), so that i can withdraw money from ATMs in China.
They advertise that they accept Visa and Master Card.
I signed a merchant account.
Got everything up, and contacted my clients in Uk, say that i accept credit card.
My clients complainted that she got".... We apologize, but you have exceeded the maximum amount that you can send to this merchant at one time. In order to increase this limit the merchant must contact iKobo..."
I'm angry, because ****lied to me.
That night, my client used Visa, another problem occour, my clients said she got "...the merchants receive limit is exceeded..".
I contacted ikobo by chat, they say that my merchants accoutn receive limit is $500, while my clients is sending me $780USD.
I'm angry again, because when i chat with them, they confirmed that my receive limit is $1000USD.
So i request them cancel my account though the chat systems.
Wow, they really closed it, without asking any question.
I asked "..cool, how do you know i'm the owner of this account.."
"...our state-of-art system detected it...".
How can that be?
If you want to use ikobo, be carefuly, search at google "ikobo", there is a very interesting thread about ikobo.
[sitepoint.com...]
I turned to Worldpay.
Their website is terrible, I can't find information i want, especially the pricing.
I called the US department, they say i shall call the Aisa department.
The next day i did that.
They're quite helpful regaring answering my questions.
But i can't use them, they charge something about 50+150 pounds for the service, plus 6% charge on each transacation.
After these advntures, i got back to paypal.
I thought about Ikobo and read the nightmares then thought again.
Worldpay also wants to charge me 6% cause of where I live. No matter that I have never sold anything to anybody in the Greater China area. Still waiting on
an email from Singapore from them.
Today, I have been looking in HK for options and found only two:
Epaylink
Paydollar
Both take Visa/MC and even PPS (HK ATM/Debit card) but neither seems to do either AVS or even CVV2 (I wonder how your supposed to protect yourself here). Paydollar
has a SOHO (non-registered business - great for me) option but the account has a limit of HK$20,000 per month, HK$ only processing, and 7%/TA + monthly fees. Bonus points are pre-Auth, VbV and free transfers to bank account. If you have a registered company - even sole prop. their fees go way down to 4-4.5%.
In Asia the best option I have found so far is Thaiepay (4% + 295Bt per month + transfer fees - security = CVV2 + card issuer check + VbV - no AVS).
Some worries include a less than intuitive credit card checkout page (punters will get confused about entering the CVV2 code) and to get your money you need to have a Thailand bank account or open a account with Bangkok Bank in your country of residence (if there is a branch). Incorporation not required.
Alternatively, open an Australian Citibank online cash manager, http://www.citibank.com.au/portal/citiau_home_center.jsp?frameval1=AU2HeroProm2&menuID=AU2leftNavDeposit
you get a free account with no monthly fees, no minimum balance, daily withdraw limit of A$3000, equivalent to >US$2000. If you use it in supermarket EFTPOS sites only A$1 fee, or ATM A$4. Best of all, an interest rate of 5.4%, very hard to find these days. Then transfer your Paypal balance to this account using ozex, which cost you only US$2.50, their exchange rate is 2% above spot rate, which is better than the 2.5% Paypal offers.
