Intershop?

Anyone using or used it? What do you think?

Still looking at alternatives to Yahoo Store. Most of them don't have the back-end capabilities I want (which don't seem so major really):

- ability to authorize the card
- send the order and AVS status to our fulfillment system in a format we define or some reasonable format
- accept info back as to which orders have shipped
- charge the shipped orders
- run nightly batches automatically

Anyway, it looks as if Intershop will do this, and I've found at least one company which will host us on Intershop for about $200/mo, including nightly backup, 6x per day transaction backup, mirroring, hot standby systems, etc.

Sounds good, but is Intershop a horrible hell or something? Any opinions out there?

last week i found an article that there is again an economy drive at intershop cause they are again in the red.
the technology is without a question sophisticated but at the moment i would have disinclination to invest in such a company.

The company that makes Intershop isn't doing that well, true. But software doesn't stop working just because a company isn't doing well.

I'd love to know of alternatives that will do what I want (in the above message). But what are they?

Anyone know of some?
