I use 2CheckOut for payments on this site, so customers can see the order total in their local currency when they reach the checkout. However, I am thinking that if I add a small link to a currency converter, I could increase international sales.
Has anybody seen an increase in sales after introducing a currency converter on their site?
We put a link to xe.com as recommended by Essex_Boy, and also the Babel Fish translator from Alta Vista. Although I am not sure whether it increases conversions, but it certainly does not do any harm. At least we no longer get any emquiries for prices in their local currency.
I know that people do use the automatic traslator and we have had sales from customers who do not know a word of English. However, we have also had many complaints about the poor translation and links to our site has even been posted in jokes forums.
I suppose inaccurate translation may render us susceptible to chargebacks but so it hasn't happen.
