We just recently switched to Datapipe (formerly high speed hosting) [datapipe.com....] These guys are great in my mind. They have extremly low end accounts up to co-located server accounts. They answer the phone at the tech support number and have never waited over 1 minute to "talk live" with someone. They utilize routing methods that will deafult to the lowest used pipeline at that moment. They cluster thier servers also (If I remember right). The specs on accounts at each level were the best I could find for the platform that I need.

This is a good resource for you to go if you want to have the opportunity to be the one to choose and not let the hosting companies choose you.
It has a nice comparison chart in four categories depending on the type of hosting you need.

My company also does hosting on some unique conditions.
Hope this helps a little,
