Hi,

We are getting a new merchant account and need new software in order to interface and process our orders.

What we need is something that will allow us to import batch information which includes CVV code and customer name cc number etc and then allow us to search this information at a later date.

We also need the software to be on our computer and allow us to dial up to process the charges. We do not use real time processing.

We have looked at a couple and they all seem to be missing one thing or another that we would really need to have.

Is there any software out there that you know of that meets these specifications?

If you have any favorite software or know of any that could do what we need, please feel free to sticky me. I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Thanks,
Vickie

ImVickieB,
When you have real time processing, you do not have to have real time completions. You can get the card authorised real time, and then you have up to 5 days to actually take the money.

This way you can decide the stock, the viability of the transaction etc.

Worldpay do it.

Aren't the rates for real time higher than for manually processing the orders?

We originally started out with CCNow WAY back when (about 3.5 years ago) When we decided to go to our own merchant account, the costs were significantly different between real time and manually processing the charges.

Depends on your volume. For me the small added cost is worth it.

Actually real time processing via the internet is cheaper. if you do a pre-auth, you have a certain amount of days to go back in & do a post-auth / sale. This varies from issuing bank. So when you do go back in, you actually hit the gateway & thus get another transaction fee.

Also have you considered an online version that would do everything like this that you asked? Or are you looking fo a brick & mortar account?

Also check with your processor - a lot of them support different software & might have a suggestion for you.

Corey,
The problem with real time is I do not know if I am going to ship straight away or not. Hence pre-auth works.

That is fine. You can usually get the transaction rate reduced a lot of times. But is this for a telephone/mail order/internet or a brick & mortar? It sounds like a telephone/mail order/internet. If so, most gateways (if you have a merchant account) offer the virtual terminal.

The problem with the CVV is security. Visa/MasterCard do not like showing that / storing that number.

There are some internet systems out there that might allow this and have the opportunity to download in a CSV format. Not too certain what gateway you are using though.

Try Costco. They have a partnership with a processor company that works with the cheapest/best gateway company. It's the best deal I could find but you need to upgrade your costco account to an executive membership
