Hello

i work in a bank and we are planning to provide online browser based banking facilities which includes e-payments,online credit card transactions, heavy transactions between branches etc
NOw I am looking for suitable technology platform in terms of

1)Security(since we are going to provide online transactions)

2)extendability:so that new services/modules could be easily installed in future.

I tbink Java based solution would be appropiate since we are planning to provide mobile interface in future

if any of u can provide me some online links regarding above captioned subject then i will be really greatful

Well I do not really recommend Java because of the issues still with Microsoft & Sun Technologies.

Have you spoken to a electronic gateway to see what they can offer & support first?

well payment system gateway is not the issue, right now i am talking about the right tool for development and security, most of the payment systems r platform dependant and can be integrated in any platform

Myself, I would use .NET. Worry about WML later. Get the site up, fix the problems & then expand.

Many larger banks use J2EE (java) for systems like these.

This topic is ripe for a .net vs java "religous" war...so I'll just leave it at that rather than get something started.
