Price comparisons

Is it ethical?

Hi all

I've been looking round at a few competitors websites, and pound for pound we are a lot cheaper on a lot of products.

This has got me thinking of doing a price comparison on my top 10 products and displaying it on my site.

Something along the lines of :

xyz widget : £50.00 + vat

and then displaying other url's on my site :

www.othersite.com : xyz widget : £80.00 + vat
www.anothersite.co.uk : xyz widget : £65.00 + vat

We stock the cheapest xyz widget etc etc

My main concern being the ethics of it.

Thanks

Karl

I knew someone once who sold "widgets". They created 10 completely different online stores selling widgets, and then a separate price comparison site for widgets which listed only those 10 sites - and they would vary the prices slightly across the stores. Just food for thought.

I dont think your competitors will be upset that you are linking out to them for comparison. I sure wouldn't. Its actually free advertising/branding for them, if only slightly. If you are really worried about it, make a separate price comparison site and do things that way.

mmmmmmmm..........10 sites seems a little over the top, but I think I'll try a few price examples :)
