PayPal "No Shipping Address" Option

Is this new? Can I turn it off?

I am getting orders with no buyer address shown even though I am shipping products. It looks like providing shipping address is an option- pre checked to yes but uncheckable.

I don't know why they get the option, but some people are choosing no, then I have to email them and ask for their address. Any way to turn this off?

Thanks

Login to your PayPal account. Go to...

Profile > Selling Preferences > Payment Receiving Preferences

I think what you are looking for is in there.

<added> Just reread your post. I didn't fully understand the original question. Sorry about that.

OK- I talked to PayPal and they said no, there is no way to turn this off- a buyer can decide not to send you their shipping address, even if you need to ship them a product.

This has happened 3 times already in the last few days, and is quite a pain- especially for people with AOL, hotmail and yahoo emails, because often they don't get our emails asking them for a shipping address, then they send us angry emails asking where their product is, to which they don't get our reply.

Why do they have this option, and why can't I turn it off- it doesn't make much sense for them to uncheck it, but they do, and it is causing some unnecessary problems.

There is actaully one way to go back to the old method- but that is to require once again all buyers to become paypal members- that isn't going to help sales, either. Arrggh.
