To help spur on Christmas sales I make the site a bit more seasonal looking by adding themed banners and some pictures of Christmas trees etc. I believe this helps to get people into the 'mood' and consequently boosts sales.

However ..... it's now late February and I still have not removed the promo material! The reason for this is that sales on the site have not dipped at all since Christmas, whereas they usually die for a couple of months.

My logic may seem random, but could it be that the presence of these banners displaying 'Free Gift Wrap on All Orders' and pictures of Christmas scenes are maintaining a higher than usual conversion rate? It must be having some sort of effect as customers are still placing orders for Christmas ornaments / lighting, as well as the usual gift ware stuff.

Has anyone else experienced a similar trend, post Christmas?

That's interesting.

Your customers seem to think they are still riding the post-christmas sales season.
