Now we’re developing a new web store for a client and I need to decide whether it’s worth trying to learn the new Yahoo way or use something else such as osCommerce (I work with a hosting company that supports it)
I did start trying to learn the new way at Yahoo and I’m totally frustrated so far. I spent hours and we have made very little progress. My first attempts at getting answers went nowhere. I've found out that the new Yahoo Dreamweaver Extension that looks so promising is only supported by email. I just got an answer to the issue I sent in two days ago. I did what they suggested. No fix. Now it will probably take at least two more days to get an answer.
Any thoughts? Any one out there who has learned how to use the new Store Tags and or the Dreameaver Extension? Is Yahoo Merchant Solutions the right way to go?
PS- I’ve been told I can continue to develop Yahoo stores with RTML, but I was told by a Yahoo support person months ago that RTML was going away so I’m reluctant to continue with it and find out support for it is going away (I was never too impressed with RTML anyway).

As a former Y! Store consultant, I would recommend you to expand your skill set beyond RTML. If only to future guard your business. The shortfalls of the platform and RTML's doubtful longterm future were what drove me out of the Y! Store freelance business.
