Does it add or reduce credibility?

I've been toying with the idea of including the eBay PowerSeller Logo on our web store's front page. What is the perception out there? Do you think it displaying one add or reduce your overall credibility to your buyers?

Ohhhh thats a hard one to answer. Ebay, everyone knows the name and to a point trusts it so as long as you give an explanation as to what a powerseller is I dont see a problem.

However, I have had some dire dealings on Ebay with cheating scoundrels so I may view it as being a bit naff.

Try it and see.

The feedback would provide useful - its like having hundreds of readily viewable testimonials (real ones, which is comparably rare) but the downside is, its eBay. More and more people -- certainly within computer-literate or tech-savvi circles -- seem to be under the oft-correct opinion that eBay is a skanky place for bumbling fraudsters.

With an appropriate explanation for those actually interested in what it means, I don't see that it would provide a noticably detrimental effect. It also [in my mind] makes the company a more human environment, because you know somebody exists to list and detail all the ebay auctions, which you don't get with places such as Amazon or Ebuyer.

Hi WibbleWobble, I am currently using the customer review sites as well but customers do not register with those sites to provide feedback. eBay works better because if they are a buyer, they are already registered making customer feedback that much easier. The comments are mostly generic, but they are more current than other customer review sites.

Interesting ideas. I've been thinking about linking to our eBay auctions from the item listings in our store, but I'm beginning to like the idea of display the PowerSeller logo too.

I agree with Wibble, it can't possibly be detrimental enough to hurt sales. And some of your newbie customers might get the warm fuzzies looking at all your A+++ ratings.
