Does anybody have any experience with plugging in an e-commerce system into an existing static html site? Ideally I'd like a full shopping basket with more basic "pick and checkout" type functionality, but I can live without the shopping basket for now.
I can use either PHP or CGI (python or Perl) based scripts. I use WorldPay Select Junior and don't particularly fancy paying another wod of money to a different payment fulfillment company.
Any hints would be much appreciated.
I am not affiliated with 1automationwiz.com in anyway, apart from being a very satisfied customer of theirs for over 2 years now.
I created my site from scratch and use his cart for order taking. Its hosted, so users go off your site to complete their orders, but its customizable enough that most won't notice.
I've taken hundreds of orders and never once had an issue with it.
The basic cart is free, if you want integration with payment gateways, it costs $6/month.
EDIT: The one complaint I do have with the cart is that its coupon system is a little weak. I'd also love to see real gift certificates and real order tracking. But, for $6/month - overall, its a really nice package.
