Listings in "top ## widgets" directory

Hello,

How many of you are listed in a "top ## widgets" directory? I have a couple of these links on my site and now I'm thinking they are not a good idea after all. I get some traffic which I assume is just other people listed in the directory checking out my site. These hits don't convert at all. The more hits you get the higher your listing in these directories. Does this sound worthwhile?

You would be better of trying to get your site ranked by building the content and getting good incoming links from other sites.

I agree with Symbios.
If you do try that type of directory, you might want to keep an eye on it. One I tried was switched over to a widget sales site (with no outgoing links) after it started generating plenty of traffic. I'm probably overly suspicious, but now I wonder how many are started for that purpose...
