Think it will fit the following needs:
-Spiders can easily index the pages.
-Will integrate easily with my existing html coded pages.
-Support for many varieties of weights and sizes of products to ship UPS, Fed Ex etc.
-Really easy to set up. No knowledge necessary of php.
-Good product support.
Can anyone tell me if I'm wrong about any of the above? Are there any other negatives I should know about digishop?
Thanks again.
Amy
Therefore we asked the license to be changed from x-cart to litecommerce. We had to communicate with them extensively on technical issues and all were sorted out without any problems. Their standard of English was excellent.
Having said that, litecommerce could cost much more long term especially if you need some custom work done. Also, there are not many other users around who can give you free advice. The shipping options are not as flexible as x-cart but we did get it to work in the end.
My experience is that x-cart itself is not difficult to use provided that you do not modify their rather staid initial designs.
It has many limits though.
I did not care for a hosted cart on a different server.(they can be slow at times)
The set up is limited, so do not expect to create it exact to your site, but they do let you use an logo/image under 15K and choose quite a few colors for text and cell.
I have not used their program in several months so I could be inacurate.
I went from securenetshop to salescart. I use the extremely overpriced version, but enjoy everything it had to offer.
Including a built in affiliate tracking.
and many different reports to help you evaluate problems.
I have lots of control over the entire check out proccess because it is a part of a tool that integrates with DW or Frontpage.
Make as many sites as you want
Negative: A liscence works on FP or DW not both. The database it uses depends on the software you bought. I went for the SQL version which is compatible to a windows server with a ms sql server. Tough to find great hosting for cheap.
