Price is main selling point - should I be scared?

How to incentivise humans without tripping SE filters

I am about to launch a site that sells products at around 20% below the usual market price in high street stores.

Furthermore, there is a 10% discount if more than one item is purchased online.

The price incentive is not at the expense of quality, durability etc and these are still important features of the products. It's simply that they are passing on the products to retail customers at wholesale prices.

So how do I strike the balance between quality and price? What appeals most to people? Do they want to see the price incentive straight off (in the page title / description) or should it be a pleasant surprise once they arrive on-site for non-price-motivated keywords?

From a SEO perspective, I'm a bit scared of using phrases like "buy widgets direct" or "discount widgets" or "buy cheap widgets here" or "save 20%" or whatever in my head content, let alone in my body content and links, etc.

How scared should I be? And how do I best draw in my audience? What's the balance?

Thanks in advance,
Millie

Ive found that discounted prices only work if a visitor is able to ascertain teh quality of product before they buy. They wont buy AT any price if they cant. From what you say it appears that these products are sold in high street shops so you should be ok.

Dont worry about search engines on the basis of what youve just said.
