Hello,

This is my first e commerce project. I am looking for a shopping software package (preferably cheap) to develop an online shop. I require that the content of the shop be able to be updated through a content management system, something like Plone by Zope.

Could OScommerce be viable?

Please advise with as many possible solutions.

cheers there
dave

The YourVirtualStore package has a content management system, if that's any help.

osCommerce is cool. I've just setup a site with it and it all went smoothly.
The site owner is not a computer expert and he seems to handle product updates without a problem.

[xaraya.com...]

They are still in beta, the 1.0 release is scheduled for early feb but you could probably develop on it now. There are a quite a few sites using it already.

I researched this a month ago and thought xaraya looked best. There are a lot of great free cms systems out there, but I was impressed the the develpment ethic of this group. It gave me a lot of confidence that it would be a good long term group to go with.
