Advice for political contributions

Hey Guys,

I'm setting up a site for a political campaign and need advice on the best way to handle donations. We need to keep the fees as low as possible but the process needs to remain simple. I don't expect to raise more than 200,000 via the website over the next 12 months, but who knows.

I've used a number of services in the past with varied results so I thought it wise to ask the pro's.

BTW- my concern with PayPay is that the process is considerably longer than a traditional merchant account.

The way I see it you have two options. Use an existing online financial transaction service or download/build a financial transaction tool.

To locate one of these scripts visit one of the script sites - you might find something that fits the bill.

You're next level options deal with expending funds to have someone build a tool for you.

PayPal should work fine for you. For merchants it's by far the fastest to set up. For existing PayPal users it's by far the quickest to use and for non-existing users it's about the same as a typical merchant account. PayPal is particularly good for contributions because in addition to credit card payments, you can accept bank payments and PayPal balance payments.
