I like the idea of having all 500 widgets in one database so that I can generate static pages (for se indexing) and have the flexibility of generating sub-sites from the same db.
By sub-sites I mean have one site carrying all of my widgets but use the same db to build a companion site that focuses on a sub-set of widgets, carrying and promoting only short-handled widgets.
I'd really appreciate some specific recommendations. The Agora shopping cart comes with my hosting account and *supposedly* will install automatically on my domain so if anyone also has some experience with Agora that kind of feedback will also be appreciated.
Anyway, I'm really at a loss as to how to proceed. A straight "build your site from a db dynamically using static pages" and/or "use this shopping cart". The software doesn't have to be free, this is a business after all, but I also don't have $500.00 to put into this part of the project. I expect I could in the future (or what's the point in selling anything?).
Thanks for any pointers.
You can use that cart to generate html pages for you. These are not doorway pages as such but fully functioning pages with add to cart and checkout functions.
As far as other sites are concerned, you can put add to cart on static pages with html links back to the cart. This is by far the easiest and the most flexible system I have seen so far.
