what a sweet way to start

Over the last few days I opened a Y! store. Basically what it is, is a store that you build using Yahoos web based tools. The store can then be listed in Y! shopping and such for a fee. it is very basic, but kinda neat in its simplicity. One of the reasons I built it was I thought I may get a pagerank boost, if I linked it to my main site. ( same theme)The Y! store went live today and without any ODP, or Yahoo listing, it is getting a PR of 6. Cool eh? Who knows, maybe theis "experiment" site will out perform it's big brother.

When I wrote the post Marcia, no. It was with the standard Yahoo address. I pointed a domain I have at it and it shows a 0 pagerank. SOOOO....now what? should I submit using the Y! address, or the domain? I think I'm answering my own question.

I'm still srtuggling with what to do in this situation. The Y! site address is www.store.yahoo.com/keyword, and the domain is expresskeyword.com. The domain has 0 pagerank, but the yahoo address has a pagerank of 6. Does it even matter? Which would you guys / gals submit?

A little off topic, but interesting. From the Yahoo! Store introductory information:

"Yahoo! Store offers tools that make it easy for search engines to find all your pages. In addition, you can automatically submit your pages to all the major search engines right from the Store Manager."

I'm sure the major search engines appreciate this ;)

Also of interest is that when I submitted to the Y! directory, they gave me a sweet description and I rank #1 for my main KW. :)

Yes Marcia, Bizz express. Also of interest is how strong a referrer [shopping.yahoo.com...]
is. Good solid traffic. A bit to soon to be definitive about conversion rates though.

No problem... but you're seeing good traffic from Yahoo! Shopping itself without going down the 'featured' route?

Yup.......As of now, the site enjoys a # 1 ranking in Yahoo, and holds down a top 15 position through MSN (L$).
Yahoo! shopping referrals are ahead of MSN at this point, but again, it's early.
