Has anyone had any experience of this from either side of the fence? We run several sites, and have very very little successful fraud (less than 0.1%), although a lot is attempted, probably 5 - 10%. I was wondering what figures others here have?

There is an axiom about suckers: the easiest person to scam is someone who has fallen for scams before. There are "born suckers." A few people really never learn.
But if you filter out the Nigerians, the Indonesians, the huge orders that make no sense, many online businesses can almost eliminate fraud.
Most online scammers are pretty amateurish ...at least for now.
Total credit card fraud in the UK last year was £420 million (APACS). They predict that this figure will rise to over £1 billion by the end of the decade. Of this figure CNP fraud accounts for over 25% and is rising.
Erm why not, it is easy to spot them currently, how is this going to change? Also you have more time and resources with CNP to check out any
a) Over a certain amount
b) Of Indonesian / Nigerian etc origin
c) Dodgy looking for whatever other reason
If in doubt don't process the order.
