Id say that around 40% are prodessional or a large proportion of income from ebay while about 60% and just players.

Thats in my section intrest, silver based on my dealing there.

Well, I guess the distinction is a gray area. What I'm wondering is how many sellers are retailers using ebay as an outlet and how many are just individuals selling individual items. Just professional curiosity.

There are plenty of people there doing it as individuals, but selling to make their entire income on eBay.

When I am scouting product sources or the competition in any ebay category it is fairly straightforward to see which are businesses and which are individuals. Go to any ebay category then go to search tab and then view by closed auctions. and then view the highest priced items, if you then click up to the top 5 to 10 sold items you view those sales and look at the seller rating(the seller rating is the number to the right of the seller ID). Any seller who has feedback of over 1000 is normally a full time business. One of the best ways to find any info on ebay items or seller is use the search tab and then go to closed auctions and then view the listings. I will use the ebay search tool to look at those top sellers and view thier sales history etc.
The information is all avaliable I just click and chart the info. I get many great ideas by scanning the top sellers in any category.
