has oracle got edi transaction capabilities

I want to incorporate EDI transactions into my oracle database. I understand Gertran can do that. Do I still need gertran when I have oracle. Has oracle got EDI transaction capabilities?

I had to actually look that up. ;)

EDI transactions seems to be just a big chunk of delimited data about a transaction. You can definitely store it in oracle but I think you would need to interpret (split and sort) the data before you insert.
