Avoiding lost orders

steps necessary to prevent lost orders due to tecnical issues

I find that around 36% of all orders are lost on my site due to technical issues with my shopping cart.

Some time back, this used to be as much as 60%, but I took many steps to robust the shopping cart.

But these problems persist.

The following has been done:
1. Javascript Free
2. Works without cookies if I.P. is available
3. Tracks the order even when BACK button is used heavily

Can members please suggest additional ways to track users to ensure that orders aren't lost

when yuo state orders are lost, do mean carts were filled and then dumped? Or carts were filled droppedby the computer and the customer then emails you an order? Or do you just have a poor conversion rate?
