I have been looking all over and no luck.

My shop is using javascript and therefore I would prefere that - but right now I'll love just finding one.

Any ideas?

Don't know of anything that would integrate with your Javascript cart. Gift Registry functionality ussualy requires a database, as most Javascript carts do not run databases you may have to consider moving your site to another platform.
