I work for a web development firm that is developing a shopping cart and a form of "subscription sites" for its users that allows them to have their own site/cart and sell things online.
I've done a lot of research, as well as searching through these forums, and while I'm familiar with the process, I'm having a very hard time finding what I need, especially with all of the junk-placeholder sites that are flooding google's top results ;-)
What I'm looking for, ideally, is a company that both provides merchant accounts AND a payment gateway for a reasonable price that we can consistently recommend to our clients. Obviously, we're always going to have to make them use the same payment gateway, since we need some control over that and we're going to customize our shopping cart software for that purpose. However, we'd like to find a provider that also signs people up for merchant accounts, and in an even more ideal world, gives us some sort of referral commission for it, too.
Can anyone suggest specific companies via private message or what have you? (From what I see on this forum as a new guy here, it seems naming specific companies in public is generally frowned upon)...

The pricing among the resellers/merchant providers vary, and yes some of them will give you a referral commission. Just have to shop it. :)
