Hi,
I am going to totaly redo a clients web site and move it from current host to mine. The client doesn't want any down time. I have an idea to buy a second domain name that would have a great keyword phrase in it. My idea, so there won't be any down time, is to by site on my web host, rebuild the site, put my new pages on this site and then transfer the old domainn to point to the new site after I complete it. Does it hurt to have two or three domains that all take you to the same stie? Does this sound like a good idea? The domain he uses now is the name of his businees with no keywords in it.
Thanks
I have another client that wants to buy two or three domains that point to her site. Is this good practice or bad for SEs.

You can have simple 301 redirects pointing at your site. You shouldn't see any repurcussions in doing that.
