Ruling on the Hypen within Domain?

Hi,

I know it's been mentioned that SE's are placing less importance than ever on a domain name however, I was hoping to get some opinions on the following:

- With regard to keyword strings, is the hypen more effective than group of words with the domain? For example, (given that www.utahredgrapes.com is taken) would www.utah-redgrapes.com be as effective as the more obnoxious www.utah-red-grapes.com?

OR would it be a better overall option just to bite the bullet and get the utahredgrapes.NET?

Thanks in advance for any insight,

Billy

How about www .grapeman.com?

There is nothing wrong with having your own brand...

I don't think there's enough pull one way or the other as to the effect of a domain name in a spidering engine.

Used to be, people would use hyphenated keyword domains to get the title they wanted at directories.

The best answer is....get the domain you want. .net, .com, .info etc. all the same in a spidering engine.
