i have mydomain.com and have had it for about 1 year. what if someone gets 'mydomain' registered as a trademark. is there any possibility they can then take your domain off you!?

if so its worth getting it myself before anyone else does! what is the best way to keep your domain name safe?

The graphics art guild has a publication with things you need to know, from contracts, unfair business practices you may encounter, tax issues, and especially copyright/trademark issues and how to protect yourself.

The president of it is a San Francisco cartoonist (Lloyd Dangle of Troubletown [troubletown.com] fame), and one of my former professors. Extensive experience in litigation for artists rights.

Just go to the graphic artist's guild web site [gag.org] for information.

Good stuff to know.

Go to the graphic artists guild. Do a search for "domain" there. Or better yet, go to page 8 of this pdf version of their newsletter [gag.org].

It's an article about registering a copyright for a web site, which applies for the content, and your domain name/identity/branding is a part of that content.
