I've tried two registrars and no TLDs are available. I even entered complete gibberish and that wasn't available. Could it be the worldwide DOS?

If you're trying to register a .org domain, they're doing the changeover to PIR from Verisign today and tomorrow. No one will be able to register or make any changes to .org domains until the changeover is completed.

aha! and I thought *I* was going nuts!

enom has like their entire registration system listed in the down for maintaince section today until like 2pm PST, and I don't know if that is because of something internal or the internet attack going on...

I tried forcing a .com through and it insisted that it was already taken even though there is absolutely no record of any kind anywhere on the internet and its too obscure for someone to have suddenly grabbed it (never used in google or alltheweb too)
