This may seem odd, but I have a growing list of domains this has happened for - and the registrar has already been accused of numerous counts of fraud and been in and out of court. This is the same registrar who expires domain names early and often eradicates all reference to the domain's existence, then rebills you. A hint... they used to be the only registrar...
Other issues: early billing (by 6+ months) on notices that claim your domain has already expired, billing you for domains that they arent the registrar for and on and on... though they claim they have stopped these practices, the backdated domain reg issue is recent, as are all of these issues I mentioned (as recently as last month).
Is there a court or courts where the cases against them have (hopefully) been won that one can submit proof of them violating the court's orders? Some other way of dealing with it? I've lost one domain name and only gotten a "sorry we cant unregister it after its been registered by someone else" (even though it was their fault for "losing" the domain info - but still sending me an early bill.
