Hi,
When someone asks if this service is available or if a webhosting company is offering it.What does it really mean?Does every domain name point to a different page or all being directed to one website;i.e If I can host multiple domains, does each of them has it's unique identity or not?
I hope you can help. Thanks in advance

I think when an ISP is offering Multiple domain name hosting it can fall into couple categories.

A) as a customer you have one account with many domains in that account, basically keeping all your domains under one user name and password.

b) you own blue-widget.com red-widget.com and yellow-widget.com all these site point to to website or part of your website.

c) you have one hosting account say 100meg space with 5gb transfer a month. you then can set up folders for different domains in that one hosting package keeping all you stats and bandwidth charges to a minimum

The real answer I suppose is that ever the hosting company want to offer under that description.

I suppose the term could also be synonymous with Shared Hosting which simply means that the host uses Virtual DN hosting or 1 IP address for X number of Domain Names.

I would say Multiple domain name hosting would be unique identity per domain. Just one hosting account, but unique websites inside account.

Thank you all for your POV.Unique is better I guess since SE may penalize for same content on different domains.BOL to all.
